"Interpolated narration" in the structure of Ch. Sealsfield / K. Postl's novels

The article is devoted to the creativity of the Austrian prosaist of the first part of the ХIХ century Ch. Sealsfield / K. Postl. In his novels he uses the traditional genre forms, created by the literature of the Romantic Movement. He creates the short story discourse in the more bulk epic works formatting the multilevel structure of the narrative. Using the "interpolated narration" (G. Genette’s term) Sealsfield makes emphasis on significant content forming points. The novels, short stories, and genre paintings, included in the structure of the novels, are devoted to the United States of America which was perceived as "exotic states" by the Biedermeier reader.
