Vladimir Ivanovich Chuprov: the path of the historian

The paper reveals the creative path of the prominent scientist-historian, teacher and public gure Vladimir Ivanovich Chuprov (1942 - 2015). His contribution to the study of the history of the North of Russia, to the development of higher education in the Komi Republic and to the popularization of folk traditions and historical and cultural knowledge is highlighted, the main publications are given.
