The article is devoted to the relations between the authorities and academics during the first 15 years of the existence of Perm University under different political regimes: Provisional government, Supreme Governor, and Soviet Power. The focus is made on the process of «proletarianization» of the university and displacement of old professors, which ended in the large-scale «cleansing».
