Authority in the conditions of the mobilization economy during the eastern front of World War II (based on materials from North Ossetia)

For the first time in regional historiography the paper focuses on the main directions and mechanisms of the mobilization economy that developed in North Ossetia during the Eastern Front of World War II. Points of view of prominent researchers on the notions of “mobilization economy” and “mobilization system” were considered in order to project them on the processes typical for the economy during the War. The author makes the first-time introduction of some documents into the scientific circulation that give an idea of the performance of such a non-constitutional body as the Ordzhonikidze (Vladikavkaz) defense Committee. In the work it is pointed out that the mobilization economy had the main goal of transferring the national economy of the region to the manufacturing of military products. In addition, many of mobilization economy activities were carried out with the help of measures of a forced and repressive nature: labor service of the unemployed population, mandatory participation in the creation of defensive lines, work on collective farm fields and in factories on certain days.
