The paper analyses monograph “Mining Urals, 1861-1900: authorities, entrepreneurs, workers. From consent to confrontation” written by Dmitry V. Gavrilov. The author of paper notes that content of the book based on a significant number of previously unpublished archival sources. The paper emphasizes that this book has a clear, consistent structure, which allowed Dmitry V. Gavrilov to show contradictory interaction of authorities, entrepreneurs and proletariat and to reflect conflict nature of the interaction, which became basis for future Russian revolutions.
