The effect of aerocryotherapy on the body mass variation and the leptin level in the treatment of alimentary-constitutional obesity

Maintenance of the achieved results is one of the most complicated problems in treatment of obesity. Since weight reduction in the patients with alimentary-constitutional obesity is associated, above all, with decrease of the mass of the peripheral adipose tissue, the parallel process of reduction of leptin generation is obvious. However, a deficit of leptin leads to extremely negative consequences in connection with the physiological importance of this substance, which acts as the ''satiety hormone’. The use of cryotherapy causes ''smoothing’ of the leptin level variation even in cases of significant losses of the excess body weight, therefore this method shows much promise for treatment of young patients with alimentary-constitutional obesity, where maximum long-term therapeutic effect is desired.
