Type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus are chronic diseases characterized by elevated blood sugar levels. This condition can lead to various complications such as cardiovascular disease, damage to the nervous system and kidney problems. In recent years, more and more attention has been paid to the role of antioxidants in the treatment and prevention of diabetes mellitus. Antioxidants are substances that help protect the body's cells from free radicals, which can cause oxidative stress and cell damage. Studies show that oxidative stress plays a key role in the development of diabetes mellitus and its complications. Therefore, the use of antioxidants can be an effective way to combat this disease.
