The effect of poverty on the distribution of alcoholism and drug addictions in the regions of Russia

The article presents the results of a study on the relationship between poverty of the population and the spread of alcoholism and drug addiction. Conducted correlation analysis between the relevant indicators and the study of time series show the close relationship between the two indicators, and also allow us to conclude that the relationship is causal. The results of the study confirm a number of hypotheses about the causes of the spread of alcoholism and drug addiction in the regions of Russia.
