In this article, the authors consider the problem of economic inequality between regions and the impact of the digitalization process on it. The authors suggest that in the modern economy, income inequality is largely determined by digital inequality and cite a number of factors that explain this thesis. To test this hypothesis, the authors analyze the dynamics of the number of employed and the level of wages in the regions of Russia in two industries: financial activities and manufacturing. To analyze the dynamics of concentration in these industries, such indicators as the Herfindahl-Hirschman concentration index, the Krugman concentration index and the Crn concentration index were used. The impact of the economic well-being of the employed and their concentration in the industries under consideration on income growth rates was estimated by calculating the correlation coefficient.
