Influence of demographic processes on the social and economic development of the Republic of Kalmykia

The article shows the influence of demographic processes on the socio-economic situation in the Republic of Kalmykia on the basis of statistical analysis. As a result of the analysis, the authors concluded that the reasons for the high level of migration activity of the population are the inadequate development of the Kalmyk economy. At the same time, weak indicators of natural population growth are not capable of blocking migration outflow. As a result, there are unfavorable trends in the reduction of the population of the region.
