The study deals with the unexamined effect of the deportation of the Chechens and Ingush on the economy of the Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (Chechen-Ingush ASSR). The lack of data does not allow us to assess the extent of damage caused by this action. However, it was noted that it had an immediate negative impact on almost all sectors of the national economy and this influence continued to exist, primarily in the form of a shortage of workers in industry and agriculture. The resettlement of new immigrants who arrived at the place of the deported population entailed considerable expenditure. At the same time, the highlands of the Chechen Republic remained undeveloped in economic terms, and its specific economic patterns were completely destroyed.
