Influence of growth factors on regeneration of oral cavity mucous membrane in the conditions of experimental diabetes mellitus

Influence of the peptide growth factor on oral cavity mucous membrane regeneration was studied in 28 laboratory rats of Wistar line and 28 diabetic rats of Brattleboro line as an experimental animals. Acute injury of oral cavity mucous membrane was created in all animals. The study results revealed that treatment terms of acute trauma of oral cavity mucous membrane of diabetic rats with polypeptide growth factors practically did not differ from those of healthy rats and ranges from 3 to 5 days. Duration of healing was significantly decreased by using polypeptide growth factors. Thus polypeptide growth factors may be considered to be perspective drugs in the treatment of oral cavity mucous membrane diseases in patients having diabetes mellitus.
