The impact of financial crises on the Russian economy: trends and prospects

The article gives details about the impact of financial crises on the economies of different countries. The purpose of the article is to identify the general indicators, which are affected by the recession, and to analyze the situation that has emerged in the world in 2020. Methods of retrospection, analytical, statistical and graphical research were used. The article analyzes the global crisis of 2008-2009 and the crisis of 2014-2015 in Russia, identifies the causes of their emergence and studies the main changes in macroeconomic indicators, such as GDP, oil prices, the exchange rate, unemployment, inflation, and foreign exchange reserves. The result is the identification of the weak point of the Russian Federation, which was hit by all the above-mentioned financial crises. It is concluded that the economic cycle is a natural form of economic development, therefore, the financial system is on the verge of another crisis.
