The article presents the results of an analysis of data on body weight gain and morphometric changes in the liver of Texas breed quails. The aim of the study was to study the effect of phytobiotics on the productivity and morphology of the liver of quails from the age of 18 to 46 days. The experiment was conducted at the Department of Pharmacology and General Pathology of the Institute of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology of the Novosibirsk State Agrarian University in collaboration with the N.N. Vorozhtsov Novosibirsk Institute of Organic Chemistry SB RAS. The object of the study is the material taken from 60 quails at the age of 46 days. Control weighings were carried out before the experiment and every 7 days of the experiment, and liver sampling was carried out at the end of the experiment. Morphological, morphometric, and statistical research methods were used, as well as an assessment of the physiological parameters of quails. The experimental groups received separately Rosmarinus officinalis L., extract at a dose of 250 mg/kg and Leuzea safflower extract at a dose of 140 mg/kg and combination of these biologically active plant substances daily with water once a day for 28 days. The average absolute body weight was highest on days 7, 14, and 28 of the experiment when using a combination of biologically active substances and was equal to 209,47±0,13, 259,25±0,14, 340,29±0,07. The linear liver index in all experimental groups did not exceed the reference intervals, unlike in the control group. This allows us to conclude that the combination of these biologically active plant substances has a positive effect on body weight gain throughout the study period, and the linear liver index of the experimental groups indicates the absence of dystrophic processes during intensive fattening of poultry.
