The influence of genotype and cultivation year conditions on water absorption by barley grain

The impact of the weather conditions developing in 2008-2011 on water absorption by barley grain, on the protein content in it and on the mass of 1000 grains is described on Siberian selection 24 samples. It is determined that the “year” factor in comparison with “genotype” factor exerted different impact on the specified physical and chemical barley grain indices. The perspective samples for possible use as an initial material in selection of cereal type barley are analyzed.
