Influence of the effect of diffusion and cumulation of the field on magnetic-pulse crimping of small diameter pipes

The features of compression of tubular blanks by the pressure of a pulsed magnetic fi eld under conditions of a weak skin effect and manifestation of the magnetic cumulation effect are considered. An increase in the intensity on the inner wall of a small-diameter tubular blank relative to the case of a plane wave of a magnetic fi eld and the occurrence of a signifi cant cumulation of the leaked magnetic fi eld during free compression of small-diameter pipes, preventing their deformation, are shown. The results of experimental studies of the process of magnetic-pulse compression of small-diameter tubular elements are presented. The need to take into account the infl uence and minimize the effect of cumulation of the magnetic fi eld is shown. Cumulation of the pulsed magnetic fi eld leaked inside the tubular shell does not allow for the closure of the pipe walls in operations of magnetic-pulse compression of small-diameter pipes.
