The impact of economic sanctions on the development of problem regions of Russia

The article examines the impact of economic sanctions on the socio-economic development of Russia with a special focus on the Altai Territory. The introduction of sanctions in 2014 led to significant changes in the economy and social sphere of the country, especially in problem regions where significant challenges had already existed before that moment. The study includes an analysis of the theoretical aspects of sanctions, their types and mechanisms of action, as well as a detailed analysis of the socio-economic situation of the Altai Territory before and after the introduction of sanctions. The work also examines the adaptation strategies developed by the regions to mitigate the negative consequences of the sanctions regime.
