The modern world has witnessed a sharp increase in threats related to cyberspace, resulting in new challenges for the national security of states. In the context of globalization and the rapid advancement of information and communication technologies, cyber warfare has assumed a central role in the national security strategies of the global community. Russia is no exception to this phenomenon. The authors note that its financial system, defense capabilities, monetary assets, and citizens are systematically exposed to both external and internal cyberattacks. Given the involvement of hostile states in these cyber operations, it is reasonable to characterize the ongoing situation as a form of cyber warfare. Despite being an undeclared war, the risks posed to Russia are tangible. The present article examines the historical stages of cyber warfare development; factors that hinder the advancement of cybersecurity in Russia; and measures to improve security in the informational sphere. Key aspects and threats arising from cyberattacks are analyzed, along with proposals for safeguarding national interests in cyberspace. The authors conclude that an integrated approach is necessary for effectively countering the threats posed by cyberattacks. This includes the formulation of national cybersecurity strategies, training of specialists, and the fostering of international cooperation.
