The impact of Chaktu trade on the economy of China and Russia

In the era of globalization, issues of trade relations between China and Russia are starting to have special relevance. To some extent, this is due to the fact that relations between countries are becoming closer and more intense, and economic and industrial cooperation is more productive. Although, official trade relations between the countries were fixed in the XVII century after the signing of the Nerchinsk treatise (1689) and further developed. The article analyzes the impact of trade relations under the Treaty of Chaktu (1727) on the Chinese and Russian economies in terms of the commodity structure of Chaktu trade. Chaktu brought economic benefits to both China and Russia, but different policies of the two countries gave different results. An analysis of the reason for these discrepancies, based on historical facts and scientific observations, will help to prevent economic miscalculations in the future, help to understand the geopolitical situation in the world better, and see the prospects for cooperation between China and Russia.
