The current state of the economy during the period of restrictions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic has significantly influenced the functioning of the fuel and energy complex of all countries of the world, including Russia. This work presents an analysis of changes in the consumption of non-renewable raw materials in the global energy market, including the United States and China, over the past years. The article analyzes the correlation between the number of sick people and oil consumption in the United States and China, as well as the change in the price of Russian Brent oil. The directions of improving the forecast indicators of the development of the fuel and energy complex of the Russian Federation for the long term are proposed.
