Impact of the Kosovo case on the destiny of Abkhazia and South Ossetia

The article deals with events of 2008 which have changed the legal order of the international relations. The undertaken study suggests that despite the assurances of the Western powers that the recognition of the independence of Kosovo is a unique case, it is the Kosovo precedent that has laid the foundation for the events of August, 2008, and recognizing of the sovereignty of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
