The effect of silicon on the properties of polymers

This article discusses the basic properties of polymers with silicon atoms. The process of adsorption of a silicon atom on the surface of a polymer - pyrolyzed polyacrylonitrile - has been studied using quantum chemical calculations. Five different adsorption centers on the polymer surface are considered, and the most effective surface centers for adsorption of the silicon atom are determined.
