The article is devoted to the study of the impact of the crisis on regional budgets using the example of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. The analysis examines the formation of regional budget revenues in the context of sanctions pressure and the economic downturn caused by the crisis. Particular attention is paid to the tasks of fiscal policy aimed at mobilizing and effectively using budget funds, as well as issues of saving budget resources without harming socially vulnerable groups. The article emphasizes the importance of optimizing public spending in a crisis, which, however, should not affect the interests of the most vulnerable groups. It also examines the prospects for the development of regions as growth points, the creation of a modern infrastructure that meets the requirements of a market economy, which will not only preserve but also strengthen the economic potential of the constituent entities of the Federation.
