The article presents a comprehensive study on the impact of cultural differences on message interpretation processes within global teams. The theoretical framework of the work is based on a synthesis of Hofstede's and Hall's models. The research demonstrates a direct correlation between cultural distance, measured using Hofstede's dimensions, and the frequency of communication breakdowns. A multi-level approach is proposed as a solution, combining the development of cultural intelligence (CQ) of employees through metacognitive practices and role-playing trainings, as well as the introduction of technological tools.
