The impact of food trade liberalisation on economic growth in Mercosur countries

The article assessed the influence of manipulations of import tariffs in food trade on the economic development of the four Mercosur countries, which showed a 178 sustained tendency to liberalise trade in 1996-2007. The author used the method of the regression analysis of panel data (gains and losses from a direction of trade policies). The article is another confirmation of both the positive impact of liberalising trade and the negative impact of protectionism on the economic growth.
