Impact of pandemic macroeconomic shock on e-grocery industry

Currently, the covid-19 pandemic has dramatically changed customer behavior in the e-grocery market. The forced development of online trading not only allowed new players to enter the market in a timely manner, but also to modernize the business processes of existing grocery retailers. In an unstable economic situation, it is quite difficult to predict all possible scenarios for customer behavior in the long term. The article analyzes the impact of the macroeconomic shock from the pandemic on the e-grocery industry. The analysis of the state and development prospects of the e-grocery market is carried out, the dynamics of the growth rate of the turnover of the sale of FMCG products on the Internet is given. A study was conducted on the number of users of mobile applications for the delivery of food and everyday goods. So, the most popular applications among Russians are Sbermarket and Samokat. At the same time, the highest level of e-grocery turnover in 2020 falls on the Central and Northwestern Federal Districts. The Russian food delivery market is the most growing segment, the growth of which in 2020 is planned by 79 billion rubles. The prospects for the development of the e-grocery market have been determined, which consist in the consolidation and expansion of the Russian market.
