Multilateral influence of manipulative political discourse on thinking of potential voters

Introduction. The article focuses on destructive effect of manipulative political discourse on logical thinking of potential electorate. Language manipulation methods that are the most effective in political information analyzing disorganization are given in the article. The author of the article focuses on the ability of the authors of political discourse to use objective facts as a manipulative means to make mass audience change their mind. Materials and Methods - discourse analysis. Results. The result of the examples analysis is classification and description of discourse manipulation methods affecting emotional and intellectual sphere. Conclusions. Application of discourse manipulation methods described in the article confirms indestructibility of manipulation in language in general and in political discourse in particular. Counteraction to manipulation, however, is possible with an appropriate educational level, political competence as well as the ability to critically comprehend the information received, whatever its source.
