Marxism's influence on the views and policies of Fidel Castro

This article analyzes the dynamics of the influence of Marxist ideology on the philosophical and political views of the famous Cuban politician, leader of the Cuban revolution and head of the Republic, as well as its policy. Along with Marxism, other philosophical influences to which the Cuban leader was exposed are also considered, gradual changes of his views towards Marxism-Leninism and its comprehension are revealed, the connection of philosophy and ideology with political practice is accentuated. It is concluded that Fidel Castro created an original Cuban direction within Marxism with subsequent attempts to build one of the variants of socialism in practice.
