The article explores the impact of international sanctions and geopolitical instability on the state and development prospects of Russia’s light industry in the post-2022 period. It analyzes the key challenges the sector has faced, including restricted access to foreign technologies, components, and financial resources, as well as disruptions in supply chains and a decline in export activity. Based on statistical data from the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation, the study assesses the sector’s import dependence and the scale of contraction in foreign trade operations. The author pays particular attention to the country’s logistics policy and the implementation of the national project «Efficient Transport Infrastructure», which is aimed at reorienting trade flows and developing alternative routes, such as the North–South and East–West corridors. The article highlights the role of political decisions in shaping institutional responses to sanctions and outlines government efforts to stabilize industrial performance under external constraints. Drawing on international experience from countries such as India, China, and Argentina, the article identifies effective adaptation strategies under conditions of economic isolation, including the development of domestic production, state support, and diversification of external economic relations. The potential for applying these practices in the Russian context is also explored. The article concludes with practical recommendations for enhancing the sector’s resilience, focusing on comprehensive import substitution, technological self-sufficiency, and expanded government support. It also emphasizes the importance of strengthening foreign policy initiatives to reduce international isolation and foster partnerships that facilitate access to advanced technologies. This study is intended for researchers, policy analysts, and professionals engaged in industrial policy and international economic relations.
