The impact of international sanctions in the oil and gas sector on the budget of the Russian Federation

The Russian economy has been operating under the conditions of pronounced sanctions pressure from the United States, the European Union and other countries for more than 6 years. This pressure gradually increased, and in 2022, due to the changing geopolitical situation, it led to an increase at times. Since federal budget revenues are linked to oil and gas revenues, the impact of sanctions on the oil and gas industry has affected the budget of the Russian Federation. The article describes the types of international sanctions, the budget's reaction to their introduction, and provides statistical indicators of budget revenues. The author examines the main risks of maintaining international sanctions in the future.
