Influence of Russian mentality and regional identity on the political process

Notions of «political mentality: and «regional identity:, their peculiarities in application to the Russian society are analysed in the article. Factors promoting the formation of traditional antitypes of Russian mentality are determined. Character of the influence of traditional antitypes on the modern political process has been investigated. A conclusion that political reforms are sure to become the reality in case of the account of the existing axiological and motivational sphere of the admissible changes is made.
