The impact of oil production on the environment

The article examines aspects of the increasing anthropogenic impact of oil production on the environment, which catastrophically worsens its condition. The assessment of the impact of all stages of the technological chain of oil production (exploration, construction of a drilling rig, drilling and intensification of production, extraction of fluid to the surface, preparation of hydrocarbons for transportation and storage) on the biosphere as a whole and for specific ecosystems is given. Special attention is paid to the issue of greenhouse gas emissions - methane and carbon dioxide, their utilization and further use.
