The impact of uncertainty and randomness on decision-making in navigation

Бесплатный доступ

The article presents the problem of uncertainty at the moment of making a decision, its impact on the decision being made and the consequences of this. Mathematical models modeling the impact of uncertainty, their impact on a positive change in the relative safety of the navigation process, as well as more complex approaches such as risk matrices, and others are highlighted. Attention is focused on the importance of understanding mathematical methods by specialists to reduce the impact of uncertainty and randomness on navigation safety. It is concluded that the influence of uncertainty and randomness exists, but it can be significantly reduced by using mathematical methods in the navigation process, in particular, modeling systems affected by uncertainty.
