Influence of orographical factor on the location of the population centers of the Ilovlinskiy district

The article deals with the results of the research of the geomorphological features of the Ilovlinskiy district of the Volgograd region. There is given the assessment of the influence of the quantity characteristics of the relief on the settlements situation on the basis of the use of the cartograhic method. There are defined the main orographical criteria while choosing the location area of the population centers of the studied territory.
