Investigation of interconnection between IHD, peculiarities of psychological status of people from senior age groups and the level of stress hormone in blood allowed singling out two psychological types. Stress hormones depending on the special features of the psychological type indirectly determine the specific form of reaction to stress leading to IHD. All cases of painful forms of IHD among representatives of the I psychological type manifested second to stable stenocardia, among representatives of the II psychological type - more often by the painless form of myocardial infarction, in most cases flowing as a Q-wave myocardial infarction. Alcohol plays a major role in the development of IHD. Depression as a reflection of stress-hormone level disorder can be viewed as a marker of unfavorable flow of blood circulation pathology.
