Influence of the coronavirus pandemic on modernization defense industrial complex

In an unstable international situation, most countries of the world have stepped up their arms modernization activities in the last decade. To this end, intergovernmental agreements are concluded on the supply of weapons samples, joint exercises are held, and mass production of fundamentally new samples based on the latest scientific developments is being launched. All this requires substantial budgetary investments. However, in the light of the ongoing struggle against the coronavirus pandemic, the government is forced to revise its national priorities and redirect the freed up financial resources to maintain the social sphere and health care. In this regard, it is advisable to consider the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the process of modernization of the military-industrial complex.
