The impact of the pandemic on small businesses and on the socio-economic situation in the Russian regions

In connection with the introduction of anti-epidemic measures in the period of the coronavirus that causes many small businesses have suffered economic losses. This study aims to analyze the impact of the pandemic on small businesses and on the socio-economic situation in a number of Russian regions. Based on the analysis of normative legal acts, the article identifies the regions that have presented the maximum number of regional support measures. To empirically test the impact of the pandemic, data from Rosstat were used - the level of unemployment of the population, the turnover of retail trade in non-food products, the volume of paid services to the population. It is concluded that the measures introduced to support businesses have smoothed out the impact of the crisis on such an indicator as the unemployment rate in a number of regions.
