Russia's decision to launch a special military operation in Donbas caused a series of unprecedented sanctions against our country, as a result of which inflation in the country reached 10% in the first quarter of 2022 alone. Amid condemnation of Russian policies, many large foreign companies announced they were leaving the domestic market and selling assets, which led to a surge in unemployment and the depreciation of the ruble to historic lows against the dollar and the euro. The monetary policy pursued by the Central Bank of the Russian Federation was able to stabilize the situation, but the current situation can still be described as difficult today, as the rate of decline in economic growth and the deterioration in the standard of living of the population intensified. In the course of the study, a comparative assessment of the change in the standard of living in Russia before and after the start of the SVO is carried out, the current trends and their socio-economic consequences are identified based on the analysis of statistical data for 1 quarter. 2021 - Q2 2022. It was revealed that the change in the foreign policy situation against the backdrop of the beginning of the NWO led to a sharp deterioration in the socio-economic situation in the country: already in the 1st quarter of 2022, there was an increase in consumer prices by an average of 10%, while prices in the non-food sector increased the most - by 13%. An assessment of the dynamics of real incomes of the population showed that the dynamics towards growth was observed only in 2-3 quarters of 2021, and 2022 is steadily marked by a decrease in real incomes of the population at the level of 1-2%. In general, it can be concluded that the SVO has become the reason for the intensification of inflationary processes in the country's economy against the backdrop of increased sanctions pressure. The logical outcome of the current situation was a decrease in the purchasing power of money, as a result of which real incomes, average wages and accrued pensions decreased, which led to a decrease in the standard of living of the population.
