Influence of the political paradigm on the process of perpetuating the memory of leaders on the example of sculptural monuments of V. I. Lenin in St. Petersburg

The article deals with the concept of "monument" as a form of fixing historical memory, in the context of the influence of ideology and state policy on the perpetuation process. The Russian tradition of installing monuments to outstanding statesmen is considered on the example of monuments dedicated to V. I. Lenin. The history of monumental Leniniana, on which the article is based, confirms the idea proclaimed by the authors of a close connection between monumental sculpture and the state order, which allows us to draw a conclusion about the ideologization of historical memory.
