This study assessed the impact of pre-sowing treatment of soybean seeds with the siliconcontaining adaptogen ApaSil on their sowing qualities and seedling growth. Despite the recognized importance of silicon for plants, its effect can vary depending on the species, variety, and application conditions, making the study relevant. The experiment was conducted under laboratory conditions in accordance with GOST 12038-84 on the seeds of three soybean varieties (Fulford, Coryphi, and Alberta). The seeds were treated with aqueous solutions of ApaSil at rates of 50 and 100 g/t. Germination energy, germination, and the average length of roots and shoots were assessed. The results showed that in most cases, the treatment had no significant positive effect on germination and germination energy, while for the Fulford variety, a significant decrease was noted at a rate of 100 g/t. The product had a predominantly negative effect on growth parameters (root and shoot length) in all studied varieties. Only the Alberta variety, at a rate of 100 g/t, showed a 23.2% increase in root length compared to the control. Based on the data obtained, pre-sowing treatment with the adaptogen ApaSil concluded that the effect of pre-sowing treatment on seedling quality and growth of the studied soybean varieties was neutral or negative. The product is not recommended for use on these varieties, emphasizing the need to consider variety specificity when using silicon-containing products.
