The article presents the data on the delayed effects of performance-enhancing drug use on highly qualified athletes. It was established that the possible negative effects of stimulants prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Agency and taken by athletes during their sports career had an impact on the post-professional adaptation of ex-athletes. The relationship between doping use and post-sports maladaptation is analyzed.
