Studying insulin and glucose indicators in blood serum of ewes with lambs in Kursk Region was determined with the corrective action of propylene glycol. The field and the laboratory methods were used in scientific researches on Studing Farm “Znamenskoe” in Kursk town. The article consists of the theoretical material of propylene glycol metabolism in farm animals’ organism, the place of insulin and glucose in blood serum. We can see the reasons of the energy composition usage based on succinic acid and propylene glycol during feeding ewes with lambs. This drug must be taken twice a day for two months in the morning time providing with water by the animal group of five heads. For monitoring insulin and glucose containing in animals’ blood the blood sampling takes from the jugular vein with vacuum system in two weeks in the morning time for an empty stomach. These experiment results were analyzed and showed in the table. The validation data was established using the Student’s coefficient. It’s determined that protracted propylene glycol usage by ewes in the last month of pregnancy is accompanied by glucose lowering in blood serum for 26.17 %, and by hormones increasing of insulin for 10 %, which was 4.40 mUI/ml of insulin (Norma 4 mUI/ml) and 3.25 mmol/L (Norma 2.4-4.5 mmol/L) in the 5th month of pregnancy. The research results have improved that the feeding the last months of pregnancy ewes with propylene glycol, affects carbohydrate metabolism and corrects the glucose and insulin levels in blood serum.
