The complex study of the locomotor system condition was performed in 63 patients of different age (range: 6-54 years) with shortening of different etiology and amount involved one of the lower limbs, who were subjected to surgical femoral lengthening by the technique of transosseous distraction osteosynthesis. The patients trained active movements in the knee under the specialist supervision from the first days of treatment. The analysis of the dynamics of the knee function recovery after treatment demonstrated, that the fastest increase of the range of movements was noted in these patients in comparison with 129 patients treated, who didn't train their early active movements. The effect of rehabilitation hastening was particularly marked in adult patients and maintained up to a year after treatment.
