The impact of the development of the digital economy on globalization

The article discusses the theoretical aspects of the impact of the development of the digital economy on globalization processes. Foreign and domestic approaches to the concept of the category of “digital economy” are analyzed. The author’s definition of the digital economy is presented. The elements that form the basis of the digital economy are identified. The positive aspects of the digital economy are highlighted. Statistical data on the impact of the digital economy on the GDP of both foreign countries and the Russian Federation are provided. The tendency of digital globalization of economic processes is grounded. Examples of technology and innovation development are given. The development strategies of the Russian economy for 2019-2035 are outlined. The author identifies aspects of the functioning of the domestic digital economy as part of the globalization process. The conclusion is drawn about the active development of the digital economy at the present stage, which has a significant impact on the processes of globalization.
