The power shift led to the rethinking of the status of an artist in a new society. The representatives of creative industries acquired the status of workers. The positive impact of the Revolution of 1917 on the artistic life of Bashkortostan was reflected in the creation of the first artistic professional educational institutions, the increased interest in the characteristics of household, history and art of the nationalities of the Bashkir ASSR. The study focused on the Decree on Monuments of the Republic and its ideological component which promoted the Soviet values and approved the great significance of the revolutionary movement through the monumental art. The monumental sculpture was popular in the Bashkir ASSR during the Great Patriotic War. The author evaluates the role of the avant-garde in the creation of the new generation of artists as well as the establishment of a unique school of painting in Bashkortostan.
