The article is devoted to the issues of economic sanctions by foreign states applied to the Russian Federation, which are widely and dynamically used today in world practice. The author defines the concepts of "sanctions", "economic sanctions", formulates the concept of "financial and economic security of the state", examines the list of sanctions applied to the Russian Federation and reveals their impact on ensuring the financial and economic security of the state, which is characterized by possible threats.
