Impact of sanctions on science and scientific import substitution in Russia

This article is a continuation of work published a year ago. The article analyzes the problems faced by Russian scientists after the introduction of large-scale sanctions in 2022, which had an impact on domestic science, taking into account the prospects for further development. Challenges are considered, including restrictions on the import of necessary specialized equipment, reagents and consumables, and the prospect of import substitution in the fields of scientific instrumentation, semiconductor production and chemical reagents is also considered. The issues of importing scientific equipment from abroad, financing of science and “brain drain” are discussed.
