Impact of sanctions, prohibitions and restrictions to the Russian forestry industry

In 2022, the Russian economy faced incredible sanctions pressure from the West. Based on the results of the first year of implementing the special military operation, Russia came out on top in the world in the number of restrictions imposed against it, ahead of countries such as Iran, Syria and North Korea. Western sanctions, in some cases, were strengthened by bans from the Russian authorities and Chinese coronavirus restrictions. The authors of the article tried to systematize the main external and internal measures of influence on the Russian forest industry, analyze the consequences of the impact of these measures on it and outline the main directions of the Russian Government's activities related to state support of the industry.
