The article deals with the impact of major social changes on divorce rate in the contemporary Russia, that in the conditions of its continuous scaling up is extremely important. Such an analysis allows comparison of past and current features of the divorce rates, prognosis of its progress under the influence of social changes, and, therefore, brings the one closer to the creation of an efficient socio-cultural mechanism of prevention and minimization of the negative consequences for marriage and family from the social transformations.
