Solar/magnetosphere activity effect on the tropical cyclogenesis in the pacific ocean

We estimate quantitavely the effect of solar and geomagnetic activity on the origin and evolution of tropical cyclones (TCs) by determining the depth of correlation between indices of solar and geomagnetic activities and the basic characteristics in the north-western region of the Pacific ocean (N-WPO). We show that these correlation coefficients were high in certain areas of the region in 1945-2005.
